The Techno Mage Turns One!

I can’t believe it’s been a full year since the release of The Techno Mage!

It was definitely a lot of trial and error working up to the release. At that point, I had learned three things about my launch that I definitely don’t want to repeat for Rise of the Sky Pirate:

1. It was too much for me to do all on my own, and I needed to outsource
2. I needed to learn how to properly use hashtags
3. I needed to make sure to not spread myself thin on launch day

Over the year, I’ve taken multiple courses/trainings/masterclasses/intensives/coachings on storytelling, proofreading, grammar, business, publishing, marketing, media outreach, sales, author/editor tools, hashtags, Reels, captions, mindset, etc., and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few.

Research-wise, I’ve Googled like I’d never Googled before. I’ve also learned so much from my alpha/beta readers and editor, and have applied every single one of their constructive critiques—and then some—into Rise of the Sky Pirate.

And I’ve definitely been outsourcing. I’m not consistently making enough for a virtual assistant or social media manager yet (which is definitely first on my list), but I have hired blog tour companies and planning services to ease my load.

On release day, I wrote out a 1-Year Goal list and a 5-Year Goal list. I’ve knocked off a lot from both lists, and I’m super proud of that. And grateful. I’m living my dream, and it’s everything I’ve wanted and more.

Today, I’ll be writing out another 1-year goal and adjusting my 5-year goal, and just generally basking in the amazing experience I’ve had up until now.

The best part of what made this past year so great is you. Thank you to everyone who has read The Techno Mage, reviewed it, followed me on social media, shared my posts, gushed over my characters, signed up for my newsletter, interviewed me, joined my live readings, hung out with me at author events, and just generally have been wonderful. You are the reason I keep going. And I am forever grateful.
