The Gatekeeper’s Portal Release: Why Readers Are Excited

Are you excited for The Gatekeeper’s Portal release, book 2 of the Elementals Trilogy?

If you enjoyed the elemental magic, the off-the-rails action, and the delightful chaos of The Elemental’s Guardian, brace yourself. Book two takes everything you loved and cranks it up—bigger stakes, deeper feels, and new characters who saunter in like they own the place (*cough*Moses*cough*).

What’s New Behind the Portal

You asked for faster pacing, and I listened. In The Gatekeeper’s Portal, the action threads through the story like a live wire, sparking between the quieter travel and search scenes so nothing ever settles for long. Even the soft moments aren’t truly soft anymore; they’re quiet… but charged.

And those original opening chapters? They’re gone. Vanished. Poof. The story now begins where Chapter 3 used to live, which means you’re thrown straight into the deep end with the main trio.

Expect uneasy alliances with new faces, a villain I honestly had to scale back (seriously—he accidentally turned my urban fantasy into a dystopian nightmare), and high-stakes moments that’ll make you question how anyone in this world survives anything at all.

The Inspiration That Sparked It All

This trilogy has always been my love letter to Avatar: The Last Airbender and Sailor Moon, two stories that made me wonder, again and again, “what if…?”
 – What if people could control the elements the way they do in A:TLA?
 – What if warriors or royalty tied to those elements—like the senshi in Sailor Moon—hailed from their own distinct realms, the way the senshi represent planets?
 – And what if those warriors or royals had guardians of their own, echoing the Shitennou?

Where The Elemental’s Guardian introduced the world, this sequel tests it. Think bigger battles, more emotional reveals, and the kind of choices that reshape destinies.

The Cover That Caught Everyone’s Eye

When the cover reveal went live through a bookstagram tour, the response blew me away. Readers fell in love with the design, calling it “pretty,” “gorgeous,” “amazing,” and even “beautiful.”

Fun fact: we actually had to change Anya’s design. The first draft had her in a long leather sleeveless jacket (very on-brand for urban fantasy) with a high ponytail. After I described Anya in more detail to my cover designer, she came back with the version you see now—and I’m utterly in love with her jeans.

Now that Ferenc is in jeans on the cover of book 1 and Anya is in jeans on the cover of book 2… whoever ends up on book 3’s cover absolutely has to be in jeans, lol.

Why I’m Excited (and You Should Be Too)

Coming back to this world reminded me why I started writing in the first place. The Gatekeeper’s Portal let me fix the things that bugged me, amplify the things readers adored, and add a few surprises that made even me cackle.

This book is the plot twist the trilogy’s been waiting for. Everything pivots here, and I can’t wait to yank you through the portal right beside me.
