Right from the start, I’d always wanted hardcover editions of my books. They have timeless appeal, and they’re sturdy. I’ve never liked how easily paperbacks bend and get creased.

But there was only one aggregator, at the time of my decision to publish books, that offered what I looked for in a hardcover while allowing for wide distribution (as in not only on Amazon)… and it was a company that I’d heard a lot of negative reviews about.

So I opted to go with a different company and start with e-books and paperbacks, then gradually incorporate hardcovers, audiobooks, and even translations.

Unfortunately, I had to go with the one aggregator, as the other companies, while making progress in the hardcover world, just aren’t as far along, just aren’t offering what I need quite yet. And I guess that’s okay. Regardless, here we are—two years and eight months later. I’m finally getting to publishing the hardcover of my debut novel.

I actually owe it to my coach. Before she closed down her business to pivot in a different direction, she’d helped me create a five-year plan that included:

• – publishing one new book a year
• – catching up with the hardcovers of the books I already have out
• – putting the other new-book hardcovers on a regular yearly release schedule
• – an audiobook and translation schedule, dependant on funds
• – five-year special editions

Since it’s been a while since The Techno Mage has been out in the world, I wanted this hardcover edition to be worth it for new and old readers alike. I wanted to create an immersive experience that goes beyond words on a page, so I formatted beautiful chapter headers and section breaks.

But that’s not all.
