The Elemental’s Guardian is finally off to my beta readers!

That took “all 4 of the evers,” as Starfire from Teen Titans Go! would put it. Just like with my last editing update here, the first part of the Elemental’s trilogy has been kicking my butt.

But this time, it was mostly because I’d been proofreading for clients, which was taking up almost all of my editing time. And then, on top of it all, my alpha reader feedback was so amazing that I got overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start with implementing the feedback.

The biggest challenge from the feedback received was having to flesh out the characters more than I thought they already were. After all, I took an enneagram personality test for each of them and stuck to the results as I did the rewrite back in November 2021. Or so I thought.

So what should have gone to my Beta readers at the end of May (with my editor booked in for July) for a tentative October/November 2022 release ended up forcefully being pushed back to “early 2023.”

I have a tentative date in mind for release. And my amazing, super-busy, booked-out-until-next-year editor just so happened to have a slot open up in October, so I snatched it up. That means I literally have two weeks to implement all my beta reader feedback once I get it all back.

But I have confidence I’ll make it based on the feedback implementation from my alpha readers and the feedback I’ve received so far from my beta readers.

Here’s to a smooth process and making it to the editor on time.
