A Breakdown Of The Elemental’s Guardian

Want to know all about The Elemental’s Guardian? I’ve got you covered! From tropes, setting, and even what you won’t like about it, I’m spilling the details here.

Are you ready?

Themes of trust, power & corruption, and revenge
Main characters Ferenc and Olivia have to learn to not only trust themselves, but to trust one another as well if they’re going to save Dormouse. On the other hand, the villain, corrupted from being scorned in the past, seeks power through his revenge. Will he show them all what he can really do?

Tropes such as reluctant hero, ride the lightning, and elemental embodiment
Ferenc has his reservations about the whole controlling-the-elements thing, even with proof from Olivia, who’d been traveling via lightning when he ran into her. Things quickly escalate when masked figures, who control unnatural creatures, target his homeless friend. Will Ferenc set aside his skepticism and embody the guardian he supposedly is?

Characters such as an analytical freelance pilot, a protective personal assistant, and a conflict-fearing homeless woman
Olivia informs Ferenc he’s the guardian of the air elemental, but who is the elemental?

Settings such as present time, Florida, and a lunar temple
Urban/contemporary fantasy means the story takes place in the21st century, so the Floridian setting is one you’ll recognize, complete with jets and diners and cars and cell phones. The lunar temple, however…

Plot events such as discovering magic in an ordinary world, protecting a homeless woman from unnatural creatures, and mastering elemental abilities
Olivia’s arrival opened Ferenc’s eyes to a magical new world, and it pulled the veil back on the darker side as well. Can he come to terms before things get too dangerous?

Based on Sailor Moon and Avatar: The Last Airbender, but for adults
With the guardian aspect of Sailor Moon and the elemental abilities of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the characters deal with the concerns, motivations, and inner thoughts of those in their twenties and thirties (or older!).

But you might not like it if you prefer romance/romantic sub-plots, you’re looking for the typical urban fantasy formula, or you don’t like LGBTQIA+ representation
I’m not a fan of romance, so you won’t find much of it in my novels. Also, if you’re looking for typical urban fantasy (mostly written in 1st person POV with a female detective lead, in a city secretly populated by supernatural creatures like vampires, werewolves, and witches), then The Elemental’s Guardian is not it. And if you’re not into LGBTQIA+ rep, then you won’t like the fact that I have an aro/ace character (not counting the other rep in the rest of the trilogy).

Which of these appealed to you most?
