Editing update 2.3

I have made so much progress in getting my debut novel ready for publication!

My Cover Artist is currently doing her thing, and based on the images from the mood board that she put together, I am SO excited to see the final result.

Also, this mandatory lockdown due to COVID-19 has been the most productive thing that could have ever happened to me. Since being laid off from my job, I’ve been learning how to properly market and publish my novel with help from a coach, and have purchased plenty of other helpful courses.

Sky Pirates of Faugregir (which will have a new title that will be revealed along with the cover!) is currently with my Beta Readers, and boy, am I ever learning a lot from their constructive critique!

On top of everything, for the past few years I’ve lightly dabbled with the book editing tool AutoCrit. I dove deeper into it these past few editing sessions, but I had recently learned about another called ProWritingAid. I gave it a shot, and from what little I used, I seem to prefer it to AutoCrit because it actually tells me why it’s suggesting the change. That’s pretty nifty. I learned, however, that I might have to wait until after I make Beta changes before I go through my entire novel with it… I almost feel like I wasted my time, since I’m making plenty of changes and will have to do it all over again.

What are you currently working on? Let me know!

Raine
